What are Stretch Ceiling Systems? Stretch Ceilings are decorative membranes that an be used in nearly any application. The membranes are most common for creating ceiling applications, but may also be used to create wall applications, ceiling and wall murals, suspended 3D panels, backlit applications, or freestanding features. They can be given virtually any shape. The membrane is made with a special polyvinyl chloride base that is guaranteed to be cadmium free. The system consists of a lightweight aluminum profile, an anodized aluminum extrusion (if a frame is required; typically for suspended panels), and the membrane material. The profile is attached at the ceiling, the wall, or a frame. The membrane is then stretched across this skeleton and clipped into the profile, creating the desired shape.
